Flamenco Queens and the Evolution of Queer Love in Art
Today, I want to share the story behind Flamenco Queens, the latest piece in my Love is Louder series — a collection of works dedicated to celebrating queer love in all its beauty, intensity, and transformation.
Before diving into the inspiration and creative process behind this artwork, I have exciting news: Flamenco Queens was selected by Fidel Amos to be exhibited at ETH Bucharest in the first week of April 2025, as part of the Digital Art Takeover at the National Library of Romania. With that, I’ve finally decided to list it for sale, and I couldn’t be more proud.

This painting is my third piece for the Love is Louder series, which was originally curated by Odyssey of The Heart. Each work in this collection explores a different stage of queer love, from secrecy and suppression to liberation and full expression.
I don’t often speak publicly about my sexuality. I believe it shouldn’t have to define me — but at the same time, I’ve wrestled with a quiet sense of guilt. As a bisexual woman, all of my public relationships have been with men. Sometimes, I wonder if I chose the easier path, one that didn’t invite judgment or challenge norms. Maybe it was simply fate. Still, I carry the weight of that complexity, and it shapes how I create.
Submerged Love – The Hidden Depths

The first piece in the series, Submerged Love, is a visual poem about concealed affection. It shows two women enveloped in a hidden underwater world, their emotions flowing like currents, their love intense yet unseen. Swirling water and bubbles represent the turbulence and passion that come with feelings not yet shared with the world.
Available on Foundation, part of the LOVE IS LOUDER gallery.
Emerging Love – Stepping Into the Light

The second piece, Emerging Love, embodies hope and courage. Two women float freely in space, having shed the fears that once held them back. It’s a moment of liberation — a celebration of authenticity, of finally allowing love to be visible and real.
🌍 Exhibited at:
- Ninfa Labs, Milan (June 2023)
- NFT.NYC (April 2024)
- OSHI Gallery, Melbourne (June 2024)
Flamenco Queens – A Love on Fire

And now we arrive at Flamenco Queens — a visual crescendo to this series. Here, love is no longer hidden or emerging. It is bold, vibrant, and uncontainable. Two women dance in fiery synchronicity, their skirts swirling like flames, their spirits ignited by the rhythm of freedom. This is a tribute to a love that refuses to be silenced — powerful, unapologetic, and free.
🔥 Minted with Transient Labs using their innovative Multi-Creation contract, which allows for a richer experience using multiple files linked to the same NFT.
For this work, I’ve added:
- The original painting
- A 16:9 version optimized for screens
- A behind-the-scenes video showing the process
Collectors can even “pin” their favorite version to display as the main artwork on the NFT.
Creating this series has been deeply personal. It’s been a way for me to process, reflect, and celebrate a part of myself I haven’t always felt safe sharing. I hope these works resonate with you — whether you see yourself in them, or you stand as an ally.
Thank you for being here, for supporting my art, and for believing in the power of love — in all its beautiful forms.
With love,
Fer Caggiano
